@Regrann from @theheartproj – Finally… I meet the mind behind @threadapeutic For those of you who are looking for a unique one of a kind bag, you should definitely check their creations out.

They are based in Jakarta, and their bags also appeared at last weekend’s Maker Faire Singapore.
A couple more bags to add to my collection, and they are all upcycled! Yay for products that are environmentally friendly.

Next to Hana Surya is Nasyitah Tan Wah Ling representing @theloomsworkshops who educate, empower and enable underprivileged women through their work. Awesome stuff!

wabi-sabi is everything that today’s sleek, mass-produced, technology-saturated culture isn’t. It’s flea markets, not shopping malls; aged wood, not swank floor coverings; one single morning glory, not a dozen red roses. Wabi-sabi understands the tender, raw beauty of a gray December landscape and the aching elegance of an abandoned building or shed. It celebrates cracks and crevices and rot and all the other marks that time and weather and use leave behind. To discover wabi-sabi is to see the singular beauty in something that may first look decrepit and ugly.

Workshop with TUF

Exciting!! finally it’s here! 🙂 a modern twist to an heritage craft of sewing and hand-brushing, interweaving of our stories through a tapestry of upcycled fabric layered with care, it’s indeed a love at first sight. Many thanks to Hana from threadapeutic, our Indon friend for making this trip down to share on their rich craft journey and working on a special tapestry together in a joint workshop with Fei Yue Family Service Centre/Community Services 🙂 #heritagecraft #upcyclingcollaboration #tapestryoflifestories #friendincraft
